Did Sweet Magnolias Season 3 Trailer Tease Ty & Annie Getting Together?

Netflix's Sweet Magnolias is one of the most underrated melodramas in the company's catalogue today, as it's hardly been promoted by the streaming giant. Despite this, the show, which revolves around three female friends and their children, continues to enjoy strong support from its fans, who are now looking forward to the release of the long-awaited third season.

The recently dropped trailer suggests that fans might see the beginning of a romantic relationship between two beloved characters.

Since the first season, viewers have been hoping for Annie and Ty to become a couple. However, these childhood friends never showed much interest in each other. To be fair, Annie had some feelings for Ty and even kissed him once, but his indifference prompted her to start dating Jackson, who truly cares for her and treats her like royalty.

In the trailer, fans caught a fleeting glimpse of Ty and Jackson lying close together on what appears to be a pier, their faces just inches apart. The trailer suggests Ty regrets ignoring Annie and now wants to be with her more than ever before. Could the writers have finally decided to explore this path?

'I hope Annie and Ty get more screentime together and are endgame. Y'all don't promote this show enough, but I'm glad it didn't get cancelled together with other great shows,' a fan said.

While many would be thrilled to see Ty and Annie finally get together, some fans are not particularly fond of the idea. They argue that Jackson doesn't deserve to be dumped for Ty as he has never done anything bad to Annie.

'Jannie must be endgame – they are so good for each other and have amazing chemistry. Ty needs to have a storyline free from Annie. Would be interesting to see how Ty moves forward without baseball as the centre of his life. Jackson grows up with Annie, Ty should pursue his own path,' another fan argued.

The writers might, in theory, have Jackson do something stupid and ruin his relationship with Annie, but that would be totally out of character for him, and the show's realism would then be completely out of the window. Jackson's just not that kind of guy.
