The latter is exactly the case with the original star of the hit CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men, Charlie Sheen.

Though TaaHF is titled after three characters – Charlie Sheen's Charlie Harper, a carefree bachelor and bon vivant whose career in music allowed him to live a hedonistic lifestyle; Jon Cryer's Alan Harper, Charlie's brother who's been kicked out of his house in the wake of his divorce; and Angus T. Jones' Jake, Alan's underage son – Sheen was the real star of the show's eight seasons from its inception in 2003. By the end of his tenure, the actor was reportedly raking in $1.8 million per episode.

Apparently blinded by his own fame and success, Charlie Sheen was notoriously involved in many drug abuse and domestic violence scandals. But the final straw was when the actor publicly disparaged the creator of Two and a Half Men, Chuck Lorre. As a result, Sheen was fired from the show, which cast Ashton Kutcher in his place, and Sheen's supposed friendship with Lorre was ruined. But it seems that the two have finally made up.

Since Two and a Half Men ended after twelve seasons on the air (four without Sheen), Chuck Lorre has created many popular sitcoms, including The Big Bang Theory, Mom and Young Sheldon. Currently, the showrunner is producing the Max comedy series Bookie, which follows a veteran bookmaker after the business is legalized in California. And surprisingly, Lorre cast Charlie Sheen for a cameo in the show's premiere episode.

At the time of Bookie's release in November 2023, Chuck Lorre revealed that it was the first time he had seen Charlie Sheen in years. According to the showrunner, the meeting went smoothly and they got along like a house on fire, as if nothing had ever happened between them. But there was plenty of room to doubt the sincerity of Lorre's words. Now, however, they seem to have stood the test of time as the Bookie and TaaHM creator recently shared his opinion of Charlie Sheen.

'I've always been an admirer of his work. His work is impeccable,' Chuck Lorre said during the recent Deadline's Contenders TV gathering. 'After all this time, his chops are undiminished. It was an extraordinary experience to put everything behind us and work together again.'

What's even more impressive is that Charlie Sheen is expected to reprise his fictionalized version of himself in Season 2 of Bookie, which can only mean that he and Chuck Lorre have put the past behind them.
