It looks like Chance's team got a lot worse after the playoffs.

The current 23rd season of The Voice is a pretty special one, as this is the installment where we get to say goodbye to long-time judge Blake Shelton and also meet two new judges — Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan. And while the ex-One Direction member is doing just fine in the competition, Chance has proven himself to be a coach to be reckoned with, gathering a huge talent pool behind him from the beginning.

However, it looks like Chance has managed to mess up his own team by making some unwise decisions in the playoffs.

Going into the playoffs, Chance had arguably the strongest team compared to the other judges, as Sorelle, Ray Uriel, Kala Banham, Jamar Langley, and Manasseh Samone all have impeccable vocal skills and great stage presence. It was clear that Chance would have a tough decision to make in choosing two singers to advance to the live shows, but fans weren't expecting him to flop as hard as he did.

While all of his singers gave pretty great performances during the playoffs, fans were shocked with Chance's decision to keep Sorelle and Ray Uriel for the live shows, as these two were the weakest contestants, according to the audience. Needless to say, fans didn't like this at all and said that Chance was shooting himself in the foot with these strange choices.

'Quite literally any other combination of artists from his lineup would've been better than what he picked, both talent and popularity wise. Kala and Manasseh were ROBBED! Ray is just mediocre/doesn't stand out in comparison to the other contestants,' one fan said.

No one in the fandom expected to see universally acclaimed singers Kala and Manasseh sent home by the judge, with skillful but bland performers like Ray and Sorelle moving on in their place.

After this train wreck of a call, fans are sure that Chance and his team will lose the finals, even though he was previously thought to be the frontrunner of the season. It's a masterclass in how to lose any chance of winning in just a few minutes!

The Voice Season 23 Episode 15 will arrive on NBC on May 8, 2023.
