Camilla Belle And Taylor Swift's Not-so-Subtle Feud, Explained

Taylor Swift, best known as a country-pop icon who can attract millions of fans to her stadium tours, is also somewhat infamous for her ability to hold a grudge. Her feuds with Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, and Katy Perry have both delighted and terrified fans.

However, her vendetta with actress Camilla Belle may be her ugliest yet, as Swift actually used her songs to spread hurtful messages about Camilla.

The conflict between the two began in 2008, shortly after Swift was dumped by her then-boyfriend Joe Jonas, who had started dating Camilla months before ending things with Swift. Though Camilla and Joe never spoke ill of Swift, the singer appeared to take it personally, and took a jab at the actress in her song Better Than Revenge, whose lyrics feature an intentionally hurtful description of Camilla.

‘She's an actress, she's better known for the things that she does on the mattress,’ Swift wrote in a bid to pour scorn on her romantic rival from the rooftops, metaphorically speaking.

Even though Joe and Camilla broke up in 2009, it seems Swift's harsh comments deeply hurt the actress. In 2015, when Swift began feuding with Nicki Minaj over comments about thin women dominating the music industry, Camilla publicly supported Katy Perry, who opposed Swift in the argument.

Later in 2016, Camilla once again sided with Swift's critics, stating that Swift's attempt to deny she approved of Kanye West's controversial lyrics about her, despite evidence to the contrary, was petty revenge.

However, since that initial jab, Swift has not mentioned Camilla again. Fans speculate that the singer simply did not view Camilla as a worthy adversary, as the actress's career has declined over the past decade, and she has not appeared in any notable films or TV series for quite some time. Perhaps Swift was merely heartbroken when she penned those hurtful lyrics and quickly forgot about Camilla once she moved on.

Either way, the feud between the two has gone down in history as one of the most petty ones in the history of the entertainment industry.
