"Bore-Fest" The Voice Fans Are Not Too Keen On the Season 24 Coach Lineup

Earlier this year, The Voice finally managed to make its coach lineup exciting and fresh again when producers invited Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper to join the show while bidding farewell to Blake Shelton, who decided to leave the show after the current 23rd season.

Fans loved the new lineup, praising Niall and Chance for their unorthodox coaching methods and interesting choices. However, NBC seems to be gearing up for drastic changes for The Voice in the upcoming 24th season, including a completely new and, hopefully, improved panel of coaches.

According to NBC, the new panel will comprise Reba McEntire, John Legend, Niall Horan and Gwen Stefani, as Kelly Clarkson and Chance the Rapper will be stepping down as coaches in the next season. And while the new lineup certainly has no shortage of star power, fans are worried that the show will lose its energy on account that none of the new judges are particularly known for their drive and enthusiasm.

‘I hope I am wrong, but I think this mix could be a bore-fest. There is no one to stir the pot, to be provocative like Simon Cowell was to Idol or a comedic instigator, as Blake was to the Voice. The show isn't supposed to be about the judges, but they need to make it fun to watch,’ a fan shared their reservations.

While fans are sure that Reba and Niall will be great as judges, given the raw power of their public personas, John Legend and Gwen Stefani are a different story entirely. The two are notorious for their complete lack of charisma and personality, even though they can always be relied upon to make great music.

‘Not sure about this line up. John Legend and Gwen Stefani are both kind of subdued. Maybe this will force Niall to become a bit more like Kelly’s energy,’ another fan wondered.

Whatever the case might be, it seems like fans should really cherish the last two episodes featuring Kelly, Blake and Chance as judges because all three of them are soon going to be gone.

The Voice Season 23 Episode 17 will arrive on NBC on 22 May 2023.
