The CBS series Blue Bloods has managed to exceed all expectations, becoming one of the most beloved crime procedurals on network television, despite initial claims that this police drama would not last more than a couple of seasons.

The series, in which Tom Selleck plays the role of the patriarch of a dynasty of New York City cops, has always been praised for its truthful portrayal of the familiar relationships between the characters, as the Reagan family does look quite realistic. But it seems that maintaining the appearance of a real-life family has created some unexpected problems for the actors.

One of the unique features of Blue Bloods is the regular family dinner scenes, where all members of the Reagan dynasty gather around the table and discuss their problems while eating home-cooked food.

These scenes really help the atmosphere of the series, proving once again that the Reagans are a real family, and allowing some of the characters to open up to their relatives.

Moreover, it seems that the actors themselves ate while filming the dinner scenes, which led to one completely hilarious problem.

Donnie Wahlberg, who plays Danny Reagan on the series, recently revealed that the actors had to ask the production team to exclude broccoli from the family dinner scenes, as eating it during filming proved to be a big problem for the actors.

It is really unwelcome to take a bath break during filming, so imagine how angry the producer was when all the actors frequented the bathroom during filming!
