Bizarre Simon Cowell Death Hoax Sent America's Got Talent Fans Into Frenzy
You may have heard that Simon Cowell is no longer with us, but it is actually just a troll campaign.
Simon Cowell, the creator of The X Factor and Got Talent franchises, is definitely one of the biggest record executives out there, as this English entrepreneur is responsible for making One Direction and Fifth Harmony the biggest bands of the 2010's.
While Cowell may be a bit controversial due to his outspoken personality and huge ego, most fans still love him as a judge on America's Got Talent, so the trending news of his passing sent people into a real frenzy. However, the news was quickly debunked.
Cowell certainly has a lot of haters out there, and it looks like one of them took it upon himself to spread the misinformation about his death on Twitter, making the news trending on social media.
The worst part is that even some of Cowell's close friends believed the hoax, and Cowell's ex-girlfriend, singer Sinitta, was one of them.
The two have known each other for almost 40 years, so it was obvious that Sinitta took the news very personally at first, only to debunk it herself a little later.
'It freaked me out last night when people started messaging me. Simon is NOT dead, people – he's very much alive and well. Thank God I have a sense of humor but you really scared me,' Sinitta wrote on her Instagram.
Well, it looks like the star was able to get over the sad news pretty quickly and reached out to Cowell to see if he was okay. Apparently, he is doing better than ever and is currently filming both America's Got Talent Season 18 and Britain's Got Talent Season 16.
Naturally, fans were outraged by the death hoax and called the perpetrators horrible people, as spreading misinformation is one thing, but hurting a celebrity's loved ones is truly unforgivable. Simon has yet to comment on the news himself, but the fact that he is alive and well is official.
