Biggest Nepo Baby Culture Supporter? Gwyneth Paltrow, Apparently
Fans are confused by recent comments from other actresses.
Although Gwyneth Paltrow has not been acting in movies for quite some time, she still keeps herself busy with other projects, including her lifestyle company Goop and various public appearances. However, it looks like the star is still finding herself in various scandals, as one of her recent interviews has caused quite a backlash from the public.
Paltrow has never been known to hurt anyone's feelings (just common sense), but this time things are getting pretty bad for the actress-turned-mogul. Here's why.
Nepo Baby Supporter
It is no secret that no one likes nepo babies, as the idea of talentless kids getting high-paying jobs in the creative industry just because of their parents sounds downright despicable and unfair. However, Paltrow doesn't seem to think so, as she suddenly decided to defend the nepo-baby culture in one of the interviews, expressing some rather controversial thoughts in the process.
'Now there's this whole nepo baby culture, and judgment that exists around kids of famous people. But there's nothing wrong with doing or wanting to do what your parents do. Nobody rips on a kid who's like, "I want to be a doctor like my dad and granddad",' Paltrow said.
Fans were quick to note that Paltrow was quite confused in her comments about the major industry problem, as unlike the children of doctors, who are still forced to study for a long time and then prove their abilities while working, children of Hollywood’s heavyweights receive their careers on a silver platter, without any hard work at all.
No one on the internet hates the likes of Wyatt Russell, the son of Kurt Russell or Michael Douglas, the son of Kirk Douglas, as they worked their hearts out for their careers, starting small and working their way up.
The same can't be said for the dozens of nepo babies who parasitize on their parents' fame, which makes Hollywood a pretty unpopular place among the general public. There's nothing wrong with following in your parents' footsteps, you just have to put in some work.
