Behind the Scenes Drama That Led to Angie Harrington Leaving RHOSLC
The reality star decided to leave the hit show for a heartbreaking reason.
Bravo's Real Housewives franchise is still one of the most successful reality shows out there, and the number of its spin-off series set in various American cities is a definite testament to that.
While the show has always been riddled with controversy, with some of the housewives leaving for various reasons including surprise pregnancies and mandatory jail time, Angie Harrington has decided to end her tenure on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City for a more sad and truly noble reason.
According to Harrington herself, she chose not to return to the show even after Bravo invited her back, citing the fact that her son Hart was recently diagnosed with autism and she wanted to spend more time with him instead of promoting herself in front of TV cameras.
'I shared with them that I have to choose my family right now. I already struggle with focus, and the show adds another element of stress. I want to be able to give my kids what they need in this moment. And I have to wrap my head around what we're doing with Hart in order to know how I can continue forward in my work as well,' the reality star said.
Fans are extremely supportive of Angie right now, calling her a wonderful mother and arguing that her decision to turn down lucrative paychecks and fame just to take care of her son is extremely noble. However, prior to this, Angie was never a particularly popular contestant on the show, with fans often describing her as a drama queen and not really a compelling person.
'Angie stirs drama but her personality is so… granola. Bravo, do not put her on. We really don't need another Barbie Utah blonde on the show that pretends they're as pure as snow, boring,' one fan said a while ago.
However, with Harrington's decision to leave the show for good, some viewers admitted that they were wrong about her and wished her luck in her family life. Fans hope that Bravo will invite Angie back for a reunion episode at some point in the future.
