It looks like Carrie will be gone for good in a couple of weeks.

Without a doubt, Sex and the City is one of the most iconic series television has ever seen, but that doesn't mean that all the movie sequels and the horribly titled revival show And Just Like That… have been able to live up to the success of the original.

On the contrary, fans hated the SATC movies, and the ongoing second season of the AJLT sequel only proved that Carrie and her friends needed to retire for good. Viewers complain that the plots became contrived and unconvincing, and the characters themselves began to look like parodies of their younger selves.

And it looks like HBO is well aware of the series' abysmal ratings and negative reviews, seemingly hinting that AJLT will end with the second season.

First, the cryptic promotional poster that looked like The Last Supper painting made it clear that something massive was going to happen in Season 2. And with Max's recent reveal of the title of the last two episodes, 'The Last Supper,' fans are sure that Carrie's time on the air is running out.

In addition, the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes will surely make the production of a potential third season a total nightmare for Max. Considering how much money the service is spending on production, it's more likely that the producers will decide to cancel the series. After all, both reviews and ratings are down, so taking the show off the air seems like the most logical decision.

'Between Kim [Cattrall] being back, Carrie selling the apartment, this title, the SAG strike and the hammering the series has got — [the cancellation] seems likely? My guess is Aidan and Carrie get married, and Samantha is arriving for the wedding,' one fan said.

Indeed, it looks like the Season 2 storylines also support the theory of the show ending in the weeks to come, as the reappearance of Carrie's old flame Aidan Shaw clearly teases the possibility of her getting married. For old-time fans, this sounds like a perfect way to end the story for good.

And Just Like That… Season 2 Episode 10 will arrive on Max on August 17, 2023.
