It would appear that the actor decided to open up about his love for Swift.

While Kevin Costner is undoubtedly one of the most iconic Hollywood actors of his time, both his professional and personal lives are in a bit of turmoil at the moment. First, Costner chose to depart from his role in the hit Paramount+ series Yellowstone to focus on his upcoming directorial venture, Horizon: An American Saga. The decision led to the show's cancellation after the upcoming second part of season 5.

On top of that, Costner recently underwent a highly publicised divorce from his wife, Christine Baumgartner, which must have taken an emotional toll on him, too.

Confronted with this sudden barrage of trials and tribulations, Costner sought solace, just like many others might, by immersing himself in the healing power of music by attending a live performance. Indeed, he recently experienced Swift's Eras Tour in the company of his teenage daughter. According to a recent tweet he shared, he thoroughly enjoyed the event and proudly announced he was now a 'Swiftie'.

While some might be puzzled by Costner's decision to go to a Taylor Swift gig, those familiar with his diverse career won't find it surprising. Beyond his accomplishments in acting, directing, and writing, Costner is a seasoned musician. He has been performing with his band, Kevin Costner & Modern West, since 2007.

Considering that Costner's music leans toward country — and given that Swift began her career in the country genre, maintaining those roots even as she transitioned to pop — their musical paths aren't so far apart from each other.

Needless to say, since hearing that Costner now identifies as a 'Swiftie', fans now want to see Taylor Swift join Costner on stage at one of her future concerts. The prospect of seeing these two legends perform together would be a dream come true for all country music fans.

Or maybe, Taylor Swift could write some songs for Costner's highly anticipated movie. After all, a major cinematic release like that can surely benefit from some good Taylor Swift music magic to help its narrative flow smoother.
