American Idol's Lionel Richie Pokes Fun at Ryan Seacrest for "Special Treatment"
The judge just trolled the host of American Idol.
American Idol may be going through a rough patch right now, with Katy Perry's controversial comments, weird elimination decisions, and country singers winning the competition over and over again, which makes fans seriously question whether they should continue to watch the show.
However, there's no denying that the judges are clearly enjoying their time on set. And though they all have pretty big egos, the stars are always up for some good old-fashioned trolling, as Lionel Richie and Ryan Seacrest recently proved.
In a post on his Instagram page, Lionel poked fun at both Ryan and the American Idol production team. In the photo, he is seen standing near Seacrest's trailer, having a break during the taping of the show. Notice the plate attached to the bicycle parked next to the trailer — it has the host's last name in big bold letters!
At first, fans were not sure why Lionel decided to troll Seacrest for riding a bike, but the caption clarifies that. Apparently, the judge thought it was funny that Seacrest was given a bike by the production team while his trailer is only 20 feet away from where the filming takes place, making the bike completely unnecessary for getting around the set.
While fans loved Lionel's joke, some were a little concerned that Seacrest might take it a little too personally, possibly even harboring a grudge against the judge.
Fortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case, as Seacrest responded to Lionel's post with a hilarious joke of his own, arguing that 20 feet is a long distance for someone with short legs, poking fun at the height difference between him and Lionel.
People enjoyed this tongue-in-cheek exchange between the celebrities, which reminded them once again that the atmosphere behind the scenes of American Idol is very friendly, as no one is afraid to poke fun at their fellow stars.
We are hoping that this ironic rivalry between the cast of American Idol will not be overlooked by the show's writing staff. Seacrest's bike can become a running joke on the show, as the idea of Lionel stealing the bike and rolling around the set on it is already bringing tears of joy to fans' eyes.
