All 12 Big Bang Theory Seasons, Ranked by How Much Reddit Hates Them
Not every season of the hit comedy is of equal quality.
CBS' The Big Bang Theory is widely regarded as one of the best sitcoms of the last decade, thanks to its well-written characters and addictive structure. However, with 12 seasons under its belt, the show couldn't be consistently great throughout its run, as it's simply impossible that the writers can keep things interesting for a dozen years without ever failing to delight viewers.
TBBT fans on Reddit have recently compiled a list ranking all of the show's seasons from worst to best — and the results may surprise you because some of them differ drastically from the seasons' ratings on Rotten Tomatoes!
12. Season 12 (RT score – 83%)
11. Season 10 (RT score – 83%)
10. Season 11 (RT score – 75%)
9. Season 9 (RT score – 67%)
8. Season 4 (RT score – 67%)
7. Season 8 (RT score – 67%)
6. Season 7 (RT score – 100%)
5. Season 6 (RT score – 67%)
4. Season 2 (RT score – 100%)
3. Season 5 (RT score – 100%)
2. Season 3 (RT score – 100%)
1. Season 1 (RT score – 59%)
It seems that the later seasons of the show, when the original quintet of characters were joined by new characters, are far from being the most beloved, with most fans referring to the double-digit seasons as a mere cash grab by CBS and the actors. The very last season, for example, is considered to be the worst, as all the storylines there felt bloated and shallow compared to the earlier seasons.
However, even though the first season managed to come out on top, many fans agree that the main reason for this may be due to the nostalgia factor, rather than the overall quality of the show. It's generally agreed that seasons 3–6 were TBBT's heyday, as each new installment added something new to the show's formula and kept viewers engaged.
Although the later parts of the show are considered to be subpar, that doesn't mean they aren't worth watching, as TBBT is still a great series that beats the competition by a wide margin. Even at its lowest points, the cult sitcom is far more engaging than any other comedy show from the 2010s.
