AHS Season 12: Is There A Surprising Coven Connection We All Missed?
Fans feel that the two seasons are connected.
Earlier this year, Ryan Murphy surprised fans of American Horror Story with some unorthodox decisions regarding the upcoming Season 12. For the first time in the history of the anthology series, the new chapter will not follow an original script, but instead will adapt the plot of Danielle Valentine's novel Delicate Condition, which hit the shelves this August.
Titled Delicate, the upcoming season will tell the story of a young woman, played by AHS veteran Emma Roberts, who suspects that some supernatural forces are trying to take away her unborn child. And now, after reading the description and seeing the promotional posters for the season, some fans have come to believe that the new AHS chapter may actually be connected to earlier parts of the beloved show. Here's how.
In the recently released character poster for Season 12, Emma Roberts is seen posing as a pregnant woman, but with a giant spider instead of her baby bump. While the poster itself looks quite ominous, a few fans suspected that the spider was added to the poster for an important reason, linking the new story to an earlier AHS installment.
Some people suggested that the giant black spider was actually a reference to the third season of AHS, titled Coven, which aired ten years ago. Following a story of a bunch of witches flexing their supernatural powers, the season was full of intrigue and interesting creative choices, and is still considered one of the best in AHS history.
And one of the season's most memorable characters was undoubtedly Taissa Farmiga's Zoe Benson, known as the Black Widow for her ability to kill her victims by poisoning them during intercourse.
So naturally, fans think the giant spider, coupled with pregnancy as the central theme of the upcoming season, may indicate that Zoe will be back in Delicate. This theory may seem a little far-fetched, of course, but there is no doubt people would love it to become reality, as seeing Farmiga back on AHS would be a great treat to all fans of the show.
American Horror Story Season 12 Episode 1 will premiere on FX on September 20, 2023.
