AHS: Delicate's Ms. Preecher Looks Familiar? You Actually Know the Actress
The actress has been around for a long time.
With the debut of AHS Season 12, fans are keenly analyzing every moment, looking for easter eggs or references to the series' previous seasons. While many agree that Kim Kardashian delivered a solid performance, others have been trying to find the answer to a different question: Who portrays the enigmatic Ms. Preecher?
Ms. Preecher rapidly emerged as one of the most foreboding characters, with her eerie presence trailing Emma Roberts' character. However, fans were more preoccupied with identifying the familiar actress than concentrating on the chilling antics of her character.
Familiar Face
Ms. Preecher is portrayed by Julie White, a seasoned television actress who gained prominence as a star of Chuck Lorre's earlier sitcom, Grace Under Fire. In that show, White depicted Grace's neighbor, Nadine Swoboda, a role that significantly bolstered her subsequent career.
Despite this initial success, White faced challenges in securing prominent roles and was later mostly seen in episodic appearances on shows such as JAG, SVU, Rescue Me, and Desperate Housewives.
Big Break on the Big Screen
Her trajectory took a turn for the better when Michael Bay cast her as the mother of the lead character in Transformers, portrayed by Shia LaBeouf. Fans admired White's rendition of the quirky mother, leading to her reprising the role in two subsequent films in the blockbuster franchise.
This character breathed new life into her career, and White began getting invited to play prominent roles in big TV projects, including prominent parts in Designated Survivor Season 3 and the inaugural season of NCIS Hawai'i.
With her latest role in AHS Season 12, White's career seems to be gathering steam. Ryan Murphy's influential touch will probably have improved her visibility even further.
Perhaps Murphy will consider White for roles in more of his future projects.
