8 MCU Shows and Movies That Will Be Released in 2026, Ranked

Phase Six is stacked: eight MCU releases are locked for 2026, spanning big-screen tentpoles, Disney+ series, and animated returns. We rank them by fan buzz and story stakes to see which projects are primed to dominate.
Marvel is loading 2026 with a bunch of movies and Disney+ shows, and the slate is... eclectic. Some massive swings, some safe bets, and a couple things that feel like they came out of a fever dream. Here is how I would stack the eight projects currently pegged for 2026, based on where fan hype is and how much story juice each one seems to have.
-
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
In theaters July 31, 2026 in the US. Tom Holland is back in the suit after the multiverse mess of No Way Home, with the story leaning into a true reset for Peter: new day, same headaches, and potential fresh villains or multiversal fallout. The core gang returns with Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. The eyebrow-raiser: Jon Bernthal turning up as the Punisher in a Spidey movie. Also onboard: Sadie Sink in a role they are keeping quiet.
-
Avengers: Doomsday
December 18, 2026. This is billed as the first of the two big capper films for The Multiverse Saga, teeing up 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars. The plot reportedly digs into the wreckage from multiversal incursions and puts Doctor Doom front and center after the events of Fantastic Four. The lineup name-dropped includes Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), and Captain America (Sam Wilson). And yes, the claim here is Robert Downey Jr. showing up as Doctor Doom, not Iron Man. Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) is said to be part of the mix too.
-
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2
Premieres March 4, 2026 on Disney+. Season 1 leaned darker and character-first, and the next chapter keeps Matt Murdock grinding through Hell's Kitchen with new threats piling up. Frank Castle arrives looking for payback, and Elektra resurfaces with ties to the Hand. Cast highlights: Charlie Cox back as Matt/Daredevil, Krysten Ritter returning as Jessica Jones, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, and Elodie Yung as Elektra Natchios.
-
X-Men '97 Season 2
Targeting Summer 2026 on Disney+. Mutant life is even messier this time: the world is more hostile, the team is shuffling, and old enemies like Sabretooth and Lady Deathstrike are back to make things worse. Returning voices include Cal Dodd (Wolverine), Lenore Zann (Rogue), Jennifer Hale (Jean Grey), and Ross Marquand (Apocalypse), with new mutants and villains expected to debut.
-
The Punisher Special Presentation
Landing on Disney+ in 2026. One of Marvel's short-form 'Special Presentation' projects, this one zeroes in on Frank Castle, the ex-Marine who turns his grief into a one-man war on crime after his family's murder. Jon Bernthal is expected to suit up again. The rest of the cast is under wraps for now, though it would not be shocking if it pulls in faces from the Daredevil and Kingpin orbit.
-
VisionQuest
Expected late 2026 on Disney+. A WandaVision follow-up that tracks Vision in a post-Wanda world, digging into identity, purpose, and possibly more multiverse ripples. Paul Bettany returns as Vision. The notable swing: James Spader back as Ultron. Also in the mix are Todd Stashwick as Paladin and Mary McDonnell in a role they have not revealed.
-
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2
Fall 2026 on Disney+. This animated run keeps Peter Parker in his earlier years, facing new threats and mysteries. Two big hooks they are teasing: the return of his father Richard Parker and the debut of Gwen Stacy. Expect fresh villains, storylines, and possible crossovers with other animated Marvel characters. Hudson Thames again voices Peter/Spider-Man, with Kari Wahlgren as May Parker and Charlie Cox lending his voice as Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Gwen is back, but her voice actor is still TBA.
-
Wonder Man
Aiming for early 2026 on Disney+, possibly January, though that date is not locked. The series introduces Simon Williams, a struggling actor who ends up super-powered and reluctantly famous as Wonder Man, splitting his time between Hollywood chaos and superhero duty. It is also positioned to brush up against the Vision and Scarlet Witch corner of the MCU. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars, Ben Kingsley returns as Trevor Slattery, and Ed Harris is set for a key role.
That is a lot of universe-building in one calendar year, with some genuinely surprising casting swings. If even half of this lands the way it could, Phase Six will have plenty to argue about.
