Some of the makeovers just didn't feel right for the contestants.

America's Next Top Model was one of the most popular shows of its time, as people loved to see promising young stars transformed into fashion industry professionals with impeccable looks and attitudes. However, some of the contestants needed a lot more work to become models, and not every makeover worked well for them.

Here are seven worst America's Next Top Model makeovers.

7. Cassandra Jean's haircut

When Cassandra was asked to cut off her long hair to recreate Mia Farrow's iconic hairstyle from Rosemary's Baby, the model agreed almost immediately, as she wished to stand out from the competition. However, both the model and her fans were disappointed with the makeover result, so Cassandra refused to cut her hair any shorter and was sent home.

6. Shei Phan's two-tone hair

Shei underwent a makeover in which her stylist dyed her hair in two tones — black and white, in true Cruella de Ville fashion. While the model loved the hairstyle as a gimmick, she quickly grew tired of it and was depressed for a while. However, Shei managed to stick with it, delighting the judges but disappointing fans.

5. Marvita Washington's horsetail extravaganza

Marvita was one of the frontrunners of her season, so Tyra Banks decided to slow down her progress a bit, forcing the model to wear a horsetail mallet hairdo. Viewers praised Tyra for coming up with the new hairstyle, but Marvita shouldn't have been the one to wear it!

4. Phil Sullivan's Jesus look

During his time on the show, Phil used to bend his short hair quite a bit, and the producers decided to add some hair extensions to his look, making Phil look more like a cheap Jesus imitation than a serious model.

3. Saleisha Stowers' mushroom hairdo

While Saleisha managed to win the season, viewers were shocked by her horrible haircut that made her look like Dora the Explorer, not the next Tyra Banks as the stylist had planned. Props to Saleisha for using that cut to her advantage, but fans of the model still think that the hair stylist should have been fired on the spot.

2. Brittany Hatch's fake red hair

While the purpose of a makeover is to make a model more beautiful and authentic, it looks like the people who did Brittany's hair didn't get the memo in time and put a ragged red wig on the gorgeous model, making her look like a clown, not an industry professional.

1. Denzel Wells' fake beard

Denzel was certainly a dashing presence on the show, and the stylist decided to up his game by giving him a fake beard. Yes, you read that right, someone thought that putting a fake beard on a handsome face would make it even better, which was a huge mistake, as even the texture of the beard was degrading Denzel's perfect features.
