Fans wish these scenes were left on the cutting-room floor.

While there are many low-budget movies that fail to satisfy the audience and fall into oblivion shortly after they're released, sometimes the creators of world-famous franchises also make terrible mistakes, ruining the viewers' experience of watching their work. In many cases, the problem is not with the script per se, but with some small scenes that make people question the competence of the film series' creative team.

Here are six scenes from famous franchises that should have ended on the cutting-room floor but made it into the final cut for some reason.

6. CGI baby (Twilight)

The Twilight franchise has plenty of fans and haters, but one thing both sides agree on is that Edward and Bella's infant daughter, Renesmee, looked horrifying in Breaking Dawn – Part 1. Instead of using a real child or at least a puppet, the producers created an ugly CG baby that traumatized viewers forever.

5. Steve kissing Sharon (Captain America)

Captain America: Civil War turned out to be one of the MCU's best movies, but one scene in it left viewers scratching their heads. After Rogers shared a kiss with Sharon Carter, he went back in time to spend the rest of his life with Peggy Carter, and fans couldn't help but wonder how he could look in his partner's eyes after kissing her niece.

4. Tess portraying Julia Roberts, and vice versa (Ocean's)

Although Ocean's Twelve is certainly a good movie, there was one moment that killed the whole tone of the film. In one scene, Tess Ocean, played by Julia Roberts, pretends to be… Julia Roberts herself. Breaking the fourth wall is characteristic of many modern films, but in this case, it just destroyed all the suspense.

3. Talia al Ghul's death (The Dark Knight)

And yet, nothing can compare to how ridiculously the death of Marion Cotillard's character was handled in The Dark Knight Rises. Talia delivers a long speech to Batman and then, all of a sudden, she just throws her head back and dies. That slapstick moment got all viewers thinking, what was Christopher Nolan even trying to achieve with this terrible scene?

2. The Mandarin (Iron Man)

In Iron Man 3, Trevor Slattery, pretending to be The Mandarin, turned out to be a regular Sun Tzu fanatic. Although The Mandarin's true identity was revealed later in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, this earlier storyline discredited the entire Iron Man franchise.

1. Palpatine's resurrection (Star Wars)

Most Star Wars fans are highly critical of Disney's sequel episodes, lambasting the writers for shallow characters and huge inconsistencies in the plot. Palpatine's resurrection in Episode IX is one prime example of how lazily J. J. Abrams' movies were written. Poe Dameron just says, 'Somehow… Palpatine survived' — and fans were supposed to be satisfied with that. But we are not!
