The divisive show portrayed the character in the right way.

Amazon Prime's take on Robert Jordan's iconic series of fantasy books proved to be a mixed bag, as longtime followers of the author's writing hated the first season, but admitted that the second outing was an impressive step up in quality. But while some of the saga's characters were treated rather poorly in the live-action show, the same can't be said for Rand al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn.

Here are 5 things the show got right about Rand:

He is patient and caring

The scene of Rand caring for the patients at the asylum quickly became one of the most popular scenes in Season 2, as it perfectly showed how humble, patient, and loving Rand is. Despite his higher calling, he spent a lot of time making sure the patients were cared for, which perfectly sums up his outlook on life as shown in the original books.

He tries to be someone he is not

And just as in Jordan's novels, Amazon's Rand tries to hide his kindness from everyone, trying to appear cold and emotionless to better fit his calling as the Dragon Reborn. Fortunately, he will soon realize that his traits are nothing to be ashamed of, and will become a true hero as a result.

He is still a simple person

Despite being chosen as a champion of light, Rand is still a pretty simple guy who was raised by farmers and spent his childhood working in the fields. Fans are glad that Amazon hasn't changed that about Rand in the show, keeping him as humble as possible.

Rand is loyal to his friends

The moment Rand hears that Egwene is in danger, he immediately tries to help her, not even caring about fighting hordes of enemies alone, which perfectly sums up Rand as a person, as he is willing to give his friends everything he has, even his life.

He is a bit boring

Like any fantasy character with a higher calling, Rand is a bit dull compared to the other characters in Wheel of Time, something he was known for in the original books. Fortunately, the fans love him anyway.
