Many cult movies are surrounded by superstition and rumors, and some of them are even believed to be cursed.

5. The Omen (1976)
Bob Munger, who suggested the idea for The Omen, warned producer Harvey Bernhard that exposing the Devil's deeds to millions of people can lead to punishment from higher forces. And mysterious events did occur: actor Gregory Peck's plane was struck by lightning, and the same thing happened to executive producer Marc Neufeld. How weird is that?
4. The Exorcist (1973)
From the fire at the McNeil house that left only Regan's room intact and back injuries of stars Ellen Burstyn and Linda Blair, to numerous mysterious deaths of some of the cast and crew members — the filming of The Exorcist proved to be truly tragic.
Some people believe that these tragedies were the result of director William Friedkin's irresponsible workplace practices, while the incidents themselves were simply used by Warner Bros. for publicity.

Perhaps this was also part of the movie's marketing, but actress Vera Farmiga revealed that during the filming, she would often wake up during the so-called witching or devil's hour — that is, between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m. The actress also said she found claw marks on her own computer and on her thigh.
2. Poltergeist (1982)
The Poltergeist franchise is widely known to be cursed. Shortly after the first film premiered, 22-year-old actress Dominique Dunne was brutally murdered, and 12-year-old Heather O'Rourke died of cardiac arrest a few months before the third installment was released. Many fans believe these tragedies were caused by real human skeletons used in the movie.
1. Rosemary's Baby (1968)
The first incident occurred a few months before the premiere, as the movie's composer Krzysztof Komeda fell off a cliff during a drunken, friendly fight with writer Marek Hłasko. The latter also died shortly after.
Moreover, after the movie was released, followers of the Charles Manson cult broke into the home of director Roman Polanski and murdered his pregnant wife, Sharon Tate, and their friends. Many believed it was the result of a curse because of the movie's taboo themes related to satanic cults.
