History Channel hasn't said a word about The Curse of Oak Island coming back — but the internet might have just beaten them to it.
Season 12 of The Curse of Oak Island wrapped in May without an official word from History Channel on whether the treasure-hunting reality series will return — but a new Facebook post has fans convinced Season 13 is already in the works.
The network has made no renewal or cancellation announcement, and insiders haven't confirmed anything. Still, signs are piling up that Rick and Marty Lagina will be back on Nova Scotia's Oak Island.
What we know so far:
- Season 12 ran from November 12, 2024, to May 20, 2025, totaling 25 episodes.
- The finale, "Uplifting Discoveries," ended without the team uncovering treasure.
- Instead, they found six large canisters and refined new excavation techniques — including a "honeycomb method" they hinted could be used in future digs.
While the on-screen action is on pause, the off-screen rumors are heating up. Earlier this month, a fan posted a photo to Facebook showing what appeared to be Oak Island regulars and a group of people gathered on the island. The post claimed Rick and Marty were present, "quite busy" with activity that looked like preparation for filming. There was no visible camera crew, but multiple vans and the size of the group suggested production work.
"From the look of it, they're definitely getting ready for something," the fan wrote.
TVshowcase, which spotted the Facebook post, reported that it "strongly indicates" a Season 13 return. For now, History remains silent — but the combination of on-island sightings and the Laginas' own hints about continuing their search has fans watching closely for a premiere date drop.
All 12 seasons of The Curse of Oak Island are currently streaming on History, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. If the Facebook leak is accurate, Season 13 could be on the horizon any day now.
