The Season 4 lead 4 has already won over many viewers.

Throughout the three seasons of Bridgerton, few characters have enjoyed as much fan appreciation and love as Benedict. He's goofy, awkward and cute, so it's no surprise that many men and women on and off the show have fallen for him. And objectively speaking, there are many reasons why.

Here are five of the biggest.

An Attractive and Warm Personality

Benedict is probably the most carefree Bridgerton there is. He is always up for a good time, which may seem irresponsible, but is usually very attractive to other people. He is a great flirt with a bright smile, his jokes are funny, and his manners are enticing, which is why people are naturally drawn to him. In other words, Benedict is the beacon of light and warmth that people look for in life and find in him.

A Real Sweetheart

While Benedict may seem like a total player – and truth be told, he is – he is a very kind young man. He loves his family; his relationship with Eloise is one of, if not the most inspiring, on the show. He is kind to his lovers. Consider how honest and thoughtful he is with Lady Tilley Arnold in Season 3. And yet he is a bit awkward, which makes him even sweeter.

Open-Minded

As an artist, Benedict does not tolerate the confines of social norms and expectations. And being a second son, he can afford to be as free-spirited as he wants and few people will mind. So Benedict treats life as an adventure and looks forward to whatever it might bring him, be it love in any form, new experiences and inspirations. Of course, this spiritual freedom is very attractive.

A Very Modern Character

Perhaps the main reason why Benedict Bridgerton appeals to audiences so much is that, despite being the son of an early eighteenth-century viscount, he is a very modern person. Benedict's level of self-awareness is, in fact, the product of a rather new philosophy that preaches that people should know themselves and find harmony with themselves in order to be happy. We are only beginning to realize this, but Benedict seems to have already mastered this idea, which is extremely inspiring.

Luke Thompson's Charm

Most importantly, Benedict wouldn't be so lovable if it weren't for the charming Luke Thompson who portrays the character on the Netflix show.

A lot can be said about the actor's appearance and how it suits his character, but it is rather the overall impression that Luke Thompson gives that makes you gravitate towards Benedict. He comes across as humble and kind, which is hard not to like. And his acting brilliantly conveys the character's idiosyncrasies.
