It seems that Carole failed to appeal to the masses.

Bravo's franchise that follows the lives of disillusioned housewives across the US became popular for one reason — the colorful cast full of interesting and compelling personalities, some of whom were born celebrities but didn't get a chance to shine before appearing on the Real Housewives.

In 2012, Real Housewives of New York was joined by Emmy-winning journalist Carole Radziwill, which surprised many viewers at the time, as she didn't seem to be cut out for such a show. And this notion proved right over the years since Carole is still widely considered one of the worst housewives on the series — and definitely the worst one in Season 7.

Here are five reasons why:

  • She was incredibly pretentious

With her background in investigative journalism and a slew of awards under her belt, Carole Radziwill showed everyone how smart and clever she was, but both her co-stars and the viewers treated her as a pretentious snob. And she was one, as her posh antics proved episode after episode.

  • She thought she was better than everyone else

While other housewives were discussing their children or redecorating the house and stirring up some juicy drama, Carole would sit quietly in the corner and show everyone how above the lifestyle she really was. But this felt pretty weird, considering she was a cast member on the show called Real Housewives!

  • She thought she was too good for the show

From the beginning, Carole always presented herself as an observer, not a participant, once again showing how sophisticated and intellectual she was. But despite her every word and gesture suggesting that she was too good for the project, Carole was still quite sad when the producers decided to fire her.

  • She quickly became forgettable

In the early seasons, Carole was certainly a breath of fresh air for viewers who were tired of seeing the same personalities over and over again. However, she soon turned out to be just another mean girl whose appeal ceased the moment she disappeared from view.

  • She was a bit of a bully

Carole's career as a journalist definitely taught her how to choose her words, so she was mostly careful about what she said to other contestants. Nevertheless, she still was a bit of a bully at times, often judging her friends for not being self-aware or giving them unneeded advice.
