5 Kardashian Met Gala Looks That Were Truly Unparalleled (No, Seriously)
Kardashians always dress to impress.
Recently, the whole world was shocked by the news that Anna Wintour had decided against inviting the Kardashians to the 2023 Met Gala, and even the stars' naysayers were underwhelmed, as Kim and Kendall's stunning, if slightly off-kilter, looks definitely made last years' balls all the more exciting to watch. Thankfully, that rumor turned out to be false, as the stars have been confirmed to appear at this year's event.
In anticipation of the biggest fashion night of 2023, we decided to take a look at the Kardashians' most memorable outfits from earlier Met Galas.
Kim's Roberto Cavalli dress (2015)
Kim's third Met Gala proved to be a triumph for her, as her nude illusion gown really got everyone talking. The lavish design with a huge feathered hem made Kim the star of the evening and cemented her status as the Met Gala provocateur.
Kim's Balmain dress (2016)
Just one year later, Kim was back in the spotlight wearing a metallic dress that made her look like a robot from the 1920s. With her bleached eyebrows and slicked-back hair, she certainly made an impression, but the public is still not sure if it was good or bad.
Kim's Balenciaga dress (2021)
The now-iconic all-black outfit, which completely covered the star's body head-to-toe and even her face, made an atomic bomb of an impression two years ago. Some people called Kim a true fashion idol and others accused her of a cheap attention grab, but that look was surely memorable!
Kendall's Givenchy dress (2021)
That same year, Kendall made a very different impression in a nude sparkling gown that made her look like a princess. Paired with a diamond necklace, this dress made the supermodel the real star of the evening.
Kendall's Prada dress (2022)
While last year's looks were a bit of a disappointment, Kendall managed to save the situation a bit by showing up on the red carpet in a custom gown with a see-through top and bleached eyebrows, turning the crowd in her favor.
The 2023 Met Gala will take place on May 1. It will be streamed live on Vogue's official website and social media pages.
