5 Bridgerton Spin-Off Ideas That Would Perfectly Expand the Show's Lore
There are many ways to expand the Bridgerton-verse.
While each season of Bridgerton takes about two years to produce, spin-offs like Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story bring joy into the lives of fans. For this reason, there simply must be more Bridgerton-based shows. Here are just five ideas that would delight any fan.
Violet & Edmund's Story
Since Season 1 of Bridgerton, Violet has been one of the show's most beloved characters. Her undying love for her late husband, Viscount Edmund Bridgerton, has been a source of inspiration for viewers and a thorn in the side of other characters for three seasons. It would be natural to explore Violet and Edmund's love story in a spin-off. And considering they have eight children, it must be extremely passionate.
Lady Danbury's Rise
Lady Danbury, the mastermind behind most of the Ton's intrigues, has a fascinating backstory. Descended from a not-so-prominent family, she was married to a man she didn't love, became Queen Charlotte's best friend and confidante, had an affair with a man she was deeply in love with, and dedicated her life to caring for his children after his death, all while becoming one of the most influential people at court. Sounds like a fascinating show, doesn't it?
Kate & Anthony in India
Season 3 continues to stir controversy among Bridgerton fans, but few would argue that Kate and Anthony's subplot was one of the best things about the third installment. Their sweet and passionate romance kept viewers hooked throughout Season 3, and there was plenty to be excited about when the two characters decided to go to India so that Anthony could learn about Kate's culture and have their child absorb it naturally. A half-adventure, half-romance spin-off about their travels would certainly be a winner.
Lord Debling's Adventures
One of the most fascinating and unfortunate characters of Season 3, Lord Debling was a big surprise to the audience. He seemed to be a very nice, open-minded, and educated gentleman whose life is one long adventure.
Although a minor character, he would be an interesting one to follow as he travels around the world. While primarily an adventure spin-off, it could also fit into a romance, as Lord Debling could meet the love of his life on his travels.
Portia's Life
Portia Featherington was one of the most hated characters during Bridgerton's three-season run. Fortunately, Season 3 helped viewers see the world from her perspective and understand her motivations a bit. But perhaps a spin-off about Portia's not-so-happy life would be best. After all, it would be fascinating to learn what misfortunes made her heart so callous and her mind so rigid. On the other hand, it wouldn't be a very happy show to watch.
