These five are just a fraction of the movies and series set to debut next month.

As February is coming to a close, people are looking forward to learning what March will bring. We cannot really say whether the next month will be full of good events or unfortunate mishaps, but it will see a number of exciting premieres.

Here are just five TV shows and movies scheduled to premiere in March.

The Regime (HBO/Max, March 3)

This HBO miniseries, starring Oscar winner Kate Winslet as an authoritarian prime minister, is set in a fictional Central European country and follows the rise of fascism there as the character tightens her grip on power. The show will have strong The Handmaid's Tale vibes, but unlike the dystopian drama, The Regime is a satire, which means there will be plenty to laugh at.

The miniseries will have six episodes.

Damsel (Netflix, March 8)

Starring Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), this dark fantasy is an intriguingly unorthodox take on the classic fairy tale trope. The show revolves around a young noblewoman who is sacrificed to a dragon to pay off her kingdom's debts. However, she refuses to accept her fate and fights back, proving that she's not your typical damsel in distress. Notably, the movie is being released on International Women's Day.

Manhunt (Apple TV+, March 15)

The small-screen adaptation of James L. Swanson's novel explores the aftermath of President Abraham Lincoln's assassination by following Edwin Stanton, the president's secretary of war, as he pursues John Wilkes Booth, the assassin. Tobias Menzies, who portrayed Prince Philip on The Crown and Jonathan Randall on Outlander, will star as the lead character.

The show is set to run for seven episodes.

X-Men ’97 (Disney+, March 20)

With the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie, Marvel's X-Men are back in the news. As a result, this 1990s-style animated series telling the stories of the beloved mutants is one of March's biggest premieres. The show is a sequel to X-Men: The Animated Series and follows the characters on new and dangerous adventures as they must find new leadership now that Professor Xavier is dead.

Road House (Amazon Prime Video, March 21st)

The new iteration of the eponymous 1989 movie focuses on the life of a former UFC middleweight fighter as he ends up working at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys while also struggling to come to terms with his new life. The main character is portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal whose incredible physical transformation for the role is just one of the reasons why you should see the movie.
