5 Big Bang Theory Actors Who Made a Cameo in Young Sheldon

Aside from Young Sheldon being a prequel to The Big Bang Theory, there's a lot that ties the two shows together. Jim Parsons' narration helped to bring many original fans to the spin-off when it was still new, and various Easter eggs, references, and guest appearances also entertained and kept viewers invested in the story.

Here are five TBBT actors whose brief cameos on Young Sheldon you might have missed.

Kaley Cuoco (S3E10)

Young Sheldon viewers were taken aback by a short Season 3 scene in which Sheldon dreams of a bacteria-infested swimming pool attacking him. Before the attack, the pool talks to the boy in the seductive voice of… Penny. It was later confirmed that Kaley Cuoco made this uncredited voice-only cameo as a nod to all Big Bang fans.

Mayim Bialik (S4E1, S5E16)

The actress returned to her role as Amy Farrah Fowler, providing her voice for a couple of episodes of Young Sheldon. In Episode 1 of Season 4, we hear a heartwarming argument between Amy and her husband Sheldon, as he shares that their son's name is Leonard and that he originally wanted to name him Leonard Nimoy Cooper.

'Be lucky I let you name him Leonard,' Amy chimes in.

Her voice is heard in the show's narration again in Season 5, when Sheldon brings her in to discuss the topic of relationships.

Simon Helberg (S5E7)

Sheldon's hatred of engineering is no secret, and it was only natural that he would invite his engineer friend, Simon Helberg's Howard Wolowitz, to narrate an episode about his difficult relationship with engineering and engineers.

Carol Ann Susi (S2E22)

Although the actress who voiced Howard's mother, Mrs. Wolowitz, was never seen on screen, she was one of the most beloved original cast members, and many fans were heartbroken when Carol Ann Susi passed away in 2014, followed by her Big Bang character.

The creators honored the late actress in Young Sheldon by giving her a credited voice cameo in the scene where members of the Pasadena gang are seen as young kids who are yet to become Sheldon's friends. Mrs. Wolowitz is, of course, yelling at the young Howard in the scene.

Elon Musk (S1E6)

Even though Musk is not an actor, his cameo appearances on both the parent show and the spin-off are definitely worth mentioning. After sharing a piece of cake with Howard in Season 9 of TBBT, the celebrity appeared in Young Sheldon Season 1, where it was revealed that he got the idea for successfully landing a rocket from Sheldon's notebook. It's a shame there was nothing in there about running Twitter!
