4 Ted Lasso Storylines Everyone Hated Got Tied Up in Season 3 Finale
Fans are happy to see these storylines resolved for good.
Even though Ted Lasso is still a massively popular and beloved series, its third installment disappointed many viewers, who complained about the show following too many storylines and failing to connect the supporting characters' arcs to the main plot. To wrap up those characters' stories, the creators used a rather hackneyed device, but it actually worked, making everyone satisfied with how those plotlines ended.
At the airport, Ted can be seen buying newspapers — and, thanks to that, fans are able to read some of the headlines that wrapped up the most hated storylines of the season. Here are four of them.
Zava leaves Europe
After wasting everyone's time at AFC Richmond for a few episodes, Zava left the team in search of a new home. While fans loved Zava as a reference to Zlatan Ibrahimović, he fully deserved all the hype he received before appearing on the show. Thankfully, it was revealed that Zava has joined LAFC, making it clear that he won't be a part of any Ted Lasso spin-offs.
Bex writes her book
Of all the newly introduced characters, Bex was definitely the most hated, as Rupert Mannion's young wife proved to be an especially obnoxious and self-righteous person. According to one of the newspapers shown in the finale, Bex has achieved her dream of writing her book — so fans are hoping to never see her again on the show or spin-offs!
Shandy creates her app
The only new character who can compete with Bex in terms of fan hatred is Shandy Fine, Keeley's friend and co-worker at the PR firm. While viewers didn't like the PR firm storyline anyway, Shandy's presence in it made those scenes even more unbearable to watch.
The newspapers in the finale revealed that Shandy launched her app, which became a huge success, leaving fans in hope that she will be too busy to ever appear on the show again.
Zoreaux will become a movie star
Thierry Zoreaux is one of Ted Lasso's most popular supporting characters, but his storyline has always been too minor for viewers to care about. In the finale, the news that Zoreaux will be starring in a Jean-Claude van Damme remake sent fans into a frenzy, as this seems to be the most appropriate ending for the character's arc (which wasn't that annoying after all).
