Ruth (Melanie Lynskey), a depressed nursing assistant whose home gets burglarized, is kinda fed up with humanity. Instead of relying on the police, she teams up with her neighbor, Tony (Elijah Wood), an oddball with a penchant for ninja stars. Together, they are looking for justice in all the wrong places – like, for example, tracking down the thieves themselves. It's a simple yet insanely satisfying story of the underdog standing up for themselves, complete with DIY booby traps, awkward stakeouts, and confrontations with dangerous criminals.

In The Discovery, Robert Redford plays Dr. Thomas Harbor, the scientist who finally proves the afterlife actually exists. But instead of peace, his discovery causes a spike in suicides. They both explore Dr. Harbor's creepy mansion which has now turned into some kind of way station for people planning to "cross over". Will and Isla get involved in Dr. Harbor's further experiments, trying to find out what really comes after death.
