Zootopia 2 is gearing up for its streaming moment, reuniting Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde for fresh adventures from directors Byron Howard and Jared Bush — here’s the release window we’re tracking and the latest updates.

Disney is bringing Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde back to the beat, and yes, I already did the math on when you can actually stream it at home. Here’s the plan, why it makes sense, and what’s going on with the sequel beyond the date math.

When you can stream Zootopia 2

Zootopia 2 hits theaters on November 26, 2025. Based on how Disney’s been rolling out recent releases, expect two waves:

First, PVOD (think Amazon, Apple, etc.) usually lands about 45–60 days after theatrical. That puts Zootopia 2 on digital rental/purchase sometime in January or February 2026.

Then comes Disney+. Lately, Disney has been moving movies to its own streamer about 3–4 months after theatrical. That points to a Disney+ debut in the February–March 2026 window.

Why that timeline tracks

Look at Lilo & Stitch (2025) for a clean example: it opened May 23, hit PVOD exactly two months later on July 22, and then arrived on Disney+ September 23. If Zootopia 2 follows the same rhythm, February–March 2026 on Disney+ is the smart bet.

Who’s making it

Byron Howard and Jared Bush are directing, with Bush also writing the screenplay. The movie reunites bunny cop Judy Hopps and her fox partner, Nick Wilde, for new cases around the city.

What it’s about (without spoilers)

Judy and Nick are still figuring each other out — their personalities don’t exactly fit like puzzle pieces — when a snake named Gary De'Snake slithers into Zootopia and starts wreaking havoc. Their investigation into why he’s here opens the door to bigger conspiracies and puts their partnership through the wringer.

Early buzz and what’s next

So far, the sequel is playing well: it’s sitting at 92% on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer as of now.

As for the future, the creative team sounds game to keep going. Byron Howard told Polygon the series has, in his words:

"endless"

opportunities for new stories. Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman have also teased that another sequel could be on the table. Nothing official, but the door is clearly open.

The bottom line

If you want it on your TV, plan on PVOD in January–February 2026 and Disney+ in that February–March 2026 window. If Disney keeps its recent playbook, that’s where this lands.
