Zenless Zone Zero 2.5 Launches Soon: Exact Release Times Worldwide

Zenless Zone Zero is wrapping 2025 with a chunky update. Version 2.5 has a moody title - 'To Be Fuel for the Night' - and HoYoverse is lining up the rollout for the very end of December. New S-Rank agents, a proper co-op mode, big story beats, and a pile of quality-of-life tweaks are all on deck. It looks like the kind of patch where you log in for one thing and end up staying for five.

When the update actually lands

HoYoverse says Version 2.5 goes live on December 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM (UTC+8), right after scheduled maintenance. Thanks to time zones, a lot of players in the Americas will see it on December 29.

Servers will be down for several hours before launch, and yes, maintenance Polychromes are part of the plan.

The headline additions

HoYoverse has been teasing 2.5 since December 19, and they weren't shy about the big stuff. Two new S-Rank agents lead the charge:

Ye Shunguang is the first dual-form Void Hunter in the game, built for high physical damage and flashy finishers. Her kit plays around Ether Veil mechanics, so expect a lot of setup-then-burst gameplay. She's also getting a premium outfit in this patch.

Zhao is an Ice Defense agent whose abilities scale with HP. She's designed to protect the team and bring support utility, and she'll be free to claim for a limited time during the update. Grab her while the window is open.

On top of that, the studio flagged Agent Signal Search reruns during 2.5, which should make some long-missing characters easier to pull if you've been waiting.

Co-op finally arrives

This is the one a lot of players have been waiting for: Version 2.5 adds multiplayer co-op. It supports up to three players tackling content together. No vague teaser here - it's actually happening.

Story: Season 2 hits its endpoint

The update closes out Season 2's main storyline with Chapter 6. It continues the Waifei Peninsula arc and sets up the epilogue for the Sword Seeker Chronicles. If you've been holding off for the season finish, this is that moment.

QoL, buffs, and the devs talking shop

Expect a raft of quality-of-life changes and character buffs. HoYoverse even rolled out a ZTALK developer segment on December 20 breaking down their approach to character optimization and keeping combat snappy. The short version: they know people live in endgame rotations, and they're tuning around that.

Freebies, outfits, and events

Beyond Ye Shunguang's premium skin, Jane Doe gets a new outfit you can earn for free during 2.5. The usual goodies are in the mix too: login rewards, event bonuses, free pulls, Polychromes, and multiple limited-time events to keep your calendar full.
