Tom Holland and Zendaya keep proving that working with your partner does not have to be messy.

They met as costars on Spider-Man: Homecoming, went public as a couple in November 2021, got engaged in December 2024, and somehow kept the on-set chemistry going without frying the circuits. Now they are lining up two more big releases together in 2026.

How they make the work-life mash-up work

Zendaya recently talked about still teaming up with her fiance on set, and she did not hedge. Speaking to The Mirror, she made it sound like a best-case scenario rather than a compromise.

"Honestly, I know people might think it’s awkward, he is my favourite person to work with. On set he has this huge calming presence that not only puts me at ease but also everybody he works with. I might be a little biased but he is not only my favourite person, he is my favourite person to work with."

Short version: she actually likes having him around at work. He is a steady scene partner, he keeps her relaxed, and apparently the vibe extends to the rest of the crew. For anyone who thinks mixing jobs and romance automatically ends in disaster, they are not your case study.

Zendaya also laid out why this has stayed sane while they are engaged: balance. They still go out and live their lives, but they lock down the parts of their privacy they can control and accept that some of it will leak no matter what. It is a practical approach that should serve them well after the wedding too.

The 2026 double feature

Both actors are booked and busy that summer with two major titles. Counting their three Spider-Man team-ups so far (Homecoming, Far From Home, No Way Home), these next two make five movies together. For the continuity hawks: yes, MJ is still crucial to Peter Parker’s story in the MCU, which would make writing Zendaya out of future Spidey installments awkward at best. Good thing the real-life dynamic functions.

  • The Odyssey (July 17, 2026): Christopher Nolan is adapting Homer’s epic. Tom Holland plays Telemachus, son of Matt Damon’s Odysseus. Zendaya is Athena, goddess of wisdom, war, and handicraft. Depending on how Nolan rearranges the myth, they might not even share scenes, which is a fun wrinkle for a couple headlining the same movie.
  • Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 31, 2026): Story details are locked up. The open question is how much MJ we get after No Way Home wiped her memories of Peter. Sony and Marvel are not exactly allergic to big swings and retcons, so expect some kind of path back to that relationship — but for now, it is a mystery.

What to expect

Two weeks, two releases, and likely a very charming press tour from two people who know exactly how to work a carpet together. Whether or not The Odyssey puts them in the same scenes, and however Brand New Day handles MJ’s memory reset, it sounds like the real-world partnership is steady — on set and off.
