Zack Snyder In Talks To Resurrect The SnyderVerse As An Animated Epic
Zack Snyder says talks are underway to extend his DC storyline beyond live action with an animated SnyderVerse revival, stoking fresh buzz despite no official go-ahead.
Zack Snyder is not closing the book on his DC saga. He says there have been real conversations about keeping his storyline going outside live-action, which, yes, puts animation and comics on the table. Nothing is announced, but the door is clearly propped open.
Where Snyder left things
During a 10-year look-back on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Snyder told Josh Horowitz that he has explored ways to adapt his plans for Justice League 2 and Justice League 3 into other formats. Asked if animation or comics were serious options, he said the talks have actually happened.
'We have absolutely talked about it quite a bit, and sure, yeah.'
He even cracked a wild aside about how flexible the medium could be:
'We live in a world where all that is possible... Broadway musical... you know, that would be amazing.'
He is not ruling it out
Pressed on what he would say to fans still pushing for a full continuation of his arc, Snyder kept the window open.
'I would never say that there is no way.'
Why this is bubbling up again
Fans have been pushing hard online for a revival, and Snyder has been stoking the nostalgia machine lately with previously unseen shots from his DC productions — including Henry Cavill as Superman, Amber Heard as Mera, and Ben Affleck as Batman — plus a batch of moody black-and-white stills from earlier shoots. Every post turns into a fresh round of 'restore it' comments.
What it could look like
- Animated take on his Justice League 2 and 3 outlines
- A comic book series adapting the same arc
- Or, in Snyder's words, anything the current landscape allows — he even joked about a Broadway musical
Bottom line: There are no official plans on the calendar, but Snyder is openly acknowledging that animated or comics-based continuations of his DC storyline are in active discussion. If someone writes the check, it sounds like he is game.
