HBO Max revs up October 13–19 with fresh drops: 7 Little Johnstons Season 16 lands October 15, joined by Graveyard Carz Season 20, The Thaw Season 3, and True Beauty Season 1.

Max is loading up the week of October 13-19 with a grab bag of reality staples, true-crime, imported dramas with wonderfully unhinged titles, and a few home-and-food vibes for balance. If you like a little chaos in your queue, this is your week.

The headliners (and what they are)

7 Little Johnstons, Season 16 (TLC) lands midweek. It follows the Johnstons, a family of seven who all have achondroplasia. The show is basically about their everyday life — yes, they deal with the realities of their condition, but the point has always been the family dynamic: warm, messy, and very normal.

Graveyard Carz, Season 20 returns, still centered on Mark Worman and his team resurrecting totaled Mopar classics. If you like watching rust become showroom, you know what this is.

The Thaw, Season 3 (Max Original) keeps the crime drama going as detective Katarzyna digs into the killing of a young woman found in a frozen river. It is icy, moody, and methodical — the kind of series that takes its time and pays it off.

True Beauty, Season 1 arrives with a high-school romance hook: a girl who hides behind makeup because she is insecure, and the boy who meets her where she really is. Sentimental? Absolutely. It also has a built-in fanbase for a reason.

The week at a glance

  • Wednesday, October 15: 7 Little Johnstons, Season 16 (TLC); Graveyard Carz, Season 20; Mother May I Murder?, Season 2 (ID); Pan
  • Friday, October 17: An Intimate Evening with Adam Pally (HBO Original); Baby Assassins Everyday!, Season 1; Beach Cottage Chronicles, Season 5 (Magnolia Network); Ignite, Season 1; La Grande Maison Tokyo Special; La Grande Maison Tokyo, Season 1; Light of My Lion, Season 1; Love is for the Dogs, Season 1; Mr. Mikami's Classroom, Season 1; Please Die My Beloved, Season 1; The Thaw, Season 3 (Max Original); True Beauty, Season 1; Until I Destroyed My Husband's Other Family, Season 1; Vivant, Season 1; Who Saw The Peacock Dance in the Jungle?, Season 1
  • Sunday, October 19: Anything But Gray, Season 1 (Magnolia Network)

Couple quick notes: the Adam Pally special should scratch a comedy itch if you need a break from all the murder and melodrama. Magnolia Network is doing its calm-TV thing with Beach Cottage Chronicles and the new Anything But Gray. And yes, titles like Please Die My Beloved and Until I Destroyed My Husband's Other Family are very real and sound exactly as dramatic as they probably are. Balance, folks.
