Young Sheldon Won't Go Through with George Cheating, Brenda Twist is Proof Enough

Since The Big Bang Theory's spinoff about Sheldon Cooper's childhood was announced, fans have been dreading the portrayal of one particular storyline in the new series. In the original show, Sheldon confessed to catching his father, George, cheating on his mom with another woman, an event that scarred the young boy for life.

Since Sheldon was 14 years old when this happened, the spinoff could potentially feature this scene within the next few episodes, and viewers are already speculating about who George might get caught cheating on his wife with.

Initially, fans suspected George would cheat with his neighbour Brenda, as the two have grown quite close in recent episodes and their dynamic could easily be described as risque.

But in the latest episode, A German Folk Song and a Real Adult, it became clear that fans might be mistaken about Brenda. After Mary confronted her about her relationship with George, Brenda cleared her name of any suspicion.

The conversation between the two women led fans to realise that the spinoff may not follow through with the infidelity storyline at all, opting instead for some obscure allusions to please fans of the original show.

However, not all fans agree, arguing that even if Brenda does not sleep with George, someone else will. Following this episode, fans suspect George's infidelity will involve someone completely unexpected, with the writers using Brenda as a distraction from another character.

Nevertheless, if Brenda does decide to have an affair with George after her conversation with Mary, fans will undoubtedly despise both her and George Sr. Conversely, some viewers believe Young Sheldon will sidestep the entire storyline, as George has become extremely popular with audiences, so ruining his image by getting him involved in an extramarital affair would definitely rub Young Sheldon fans the wrong way.
