Young Sheldon's 5 Most Wholesome Moments, According to Reddit
These scenes perfectly capture the Cooper family dynamic.
Fans of The Big Bang Theory have long realized that Sheldon's portrayal of his family on the series was not particularly accurate. We know that because Young Sheldon, a prequel to the CBS sitcom, gave us a pretty good insight into the Coopers' family dynamics.
Redditors have shared five most wholesome moments involving the Coopers that make you love them way more than the show's protagonist.
5. George Sr. punching Clint
Young Sheldon proved that the protagonist's description of his father in TBBT actually had little to do with reality. Yes, George Cooper might be unhappy in his marriage and perhaps has a drinking problem, but he is definitely not the dysfunctional alcoholic and terrible father that Sheldon painted him as.
When Veronica was staying at the Coopers' house, her mother's abusive boyfriend came in and tried to take the girl back against her will. Well, maybe this was a little harsh, but viewers loved the fact that George did not think twice before punching the guy and kicking him off the porch.

4. Georgie as a loving father
Just like with George Sr., Sheldon wasn't always complimentary about his brother on TBBT, but Young Sheldon showed that Georgie was not selfish and certainly not that dumb. Fans loved his whole storyline in Seasons 5 and 6, where Georgie supported his girlfriend Mandy while she was pregnant and then gave birth to their beautiful daughter.
3. Meemaw and Sheldon playing video games
Meemaw has always loved and cared for Shelly, and Season 2 Episode 8 was the best manifestation of the touching relationship between the grandmother and the grandson. To spend more time with Sheldon, Meemaw intentionally pulled him out of school so they could finish their favorite video game.
2. Sheldon's valedictorian speech
Public speeches are important moments in Sheldon's life because they allow him to reflect on his life and express his gratitude to his family and friends. In his graduation speech, the protagonist specifically thanked his sister Missy for her support, showing how much he had grown emotionally since the first season.
1. Adult Sheldon realizing his father cared about him
As a child, Sheldon was very narcissistic and disliked his father, feeling his intellectual superiority over him. But George did not give up on his son and continued to support him up until his tragic death. Given that Sheldon lost his father so early, his confession in Season 1 felt truly heartbreaking, but also incredibly wholesome.
'I didn't realize until years later that my father was only asking questions about lightning and thunder to cheer me up. In fact, he would often pretend to be dumb just to make me feel better,' the adult protagonist shared.
