Yellowstone Star Joins Stephen Amell’s Baywatch Reboot — See Who Else Is Hitting the Beach
Fox is loading up its Baywatch reboot: Stephen Amell leads, with Yellowstone star Hassie Harrison among the latest additions as the series surfs toward its debut.
Baywatch is officially suiting up at Fox, and the roster around Stephen Amell just got a couple of big additions. The network is building this thing out for a long runway, and the new casting gives a clearer picture of the flavor they want: sun, surf, and some seriously stacked resumes.
The new recruits
Hassie Harrison has joined the reboot, alongside newcomer Thaddeus LaGrone. They slot in with Stephen Amell, Jessica Belkin, and returning lifeguard alum David Chokachi, who is back as Cody Madison. Amell is leading the series as Hobie Buchannon — yes, Mitch Buchannon's kid, now all grown up and front and center — and Belkin is playing Charlie Vale.
Hassie Harrison as Nat
Harrison is playing Nat, a former foster kid who became an Olympic athlete and parlayed that into being, well, the person you absolutely want in the tower next to you. The character is positioned as the top standard for lifeguarding and Hobie's closest ally on the beach.
"The gold standard when it comes to lifeguarding" and Hobie's "right hand and closest friend."
If Harrison looks familiar: she played barrel racer Laramie on Yellowstone, turned up in the thriller Dangerous Animals, and has upcoming roles in The Rescue, Deep Eddy, and Raven. She has also appeared on HBO's It's Florida, Man.
Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad
LaGrone is playing Brad, a lifeguard whose past is baked into how he works on the beach. Before returning home to Venice Beach to care for his ailing father, he served two tours in an elite Marine unit, which definitely informs why he moves the way he moves on a rescue.
"Fearless and incredibly strong, a one-man rescue machine."
LaGrone is a former football player making a fast pivot into acting; he recently appeared in the sports drama Mr. Irrelevant.
Production and premiere plan
Cameras are set to roll this spring in two very on-brand spots: on the sand at Venice Beach and on the Fox lot in Century City. The network has a 12-episode order locked for September 2025, with the series slated to premiere during the 2026–2027 TV season. Long lead, but the pieces are lining up.
Who is playing who (so far)
- Stephen Amell as Hobie Buchannon (Mitch's son, now the lead)
- Hassie Harrison as Nat (Olympian, Hobie's closest friend, top-tier lifeguard)
- Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad (ex-Marine, Venice Beach local, power rescuer)
- Jessica Belkin as Charlie Vale
- David Chokachi returning as Cody Madison
Between an Olympian and a Marine on deck, this version is leaning hard into high-performance heroics. Not subtle, but for Baywatch, that feels exactly right.
