Yellowstone’s universe is gearing up for its next big chapter: Y: Marshals has locked a premiere date and is racing toward a wrap, signaling that Kayce Dutton’s return is right around the corner.

Yellowstone is still multiplying like rabbits, and the next branch on the family tree finally has a date. The spin-off Y: Marshals just planted its flag on the calendar, and filming is basically at the finish line. Translation: Kayce Dutton is almost back in the saddle.

Where things stand right now

Arielle Kebbel, who co-stars in Y: Marshals, popped up at the CMA Awards and told Entertainment Tonight that the show is nearly done shooting. She also sounded pretty relieved that everyone can finally talk about it out loud.

"We've been working so hard. I'm so grateful we have a release date. We can talk about it. We're actually wrapping filming in like three weeks. So, yeah, it's getting ready to get put out in the world."

That lines up with what we’re hearing: cameras should stop rolling in about three weeks. And yes, that gives the team a long runway to polish, because the premiere is not right around the corner.

When and where to watch

CBS locked in Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 8 p.m. ET for the series premiere. It’s a long wait, but at least there’s a clock on it now.

What Y: Marshals actually is

The premise pulls Kayce away from the Yellowstone ranch and drops him into an elite U.S. Marshals unit. The hook is watching how a cowboy with a heavy past translates that code into federal law work in Montana. Spencer Hudnut, who ran SEAL Team, is the showrunner, and Yellowstone boss Taylor Sheridan is executive producing. Kebbel plays another U.S. Marshal working alongside Kayce.

And the rest of the Dutton-verse keeps growing

Separate from Y: Marshals, there’s another spin-off brewing: The Dutton Ranch. That one brings back Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser as Beth and Rip, and centers on the two of them facing some hard choices to keep Carter — played by Finn Little — on track to become the man they want him to be.
