Yellowstone Fans Confused With Beth & Kayce's Non-Existent Relationship
People are confused about whether the fact that Beth and Kayce don't have any kind of a meaningful relationship is a faux pas on the part of the writers or a deliberate strategy.
Writer Taylor Sheridan has seemingly taken over Paramount + recently, writing and producing several hit shows simultaneously. But it all started in 2018 when he unveiled Yellowstone, a tangled tale of a dysfunctional Montana rancher family.
And it wasn't just Kevin Costner's participation that made the series a hit: the other cast members delivered great performances, too, while the complex script made the show a thrilling watch.
The Duttons have become one of the most interesting messed-up families in the history of modern television, but some fans feel that not all members of the clan got the attention they deserved.
People aren't sure why Beth and Kayce, two Dutton siblings, don't interact with each other at all, despite being very close relatives.
Beth was certainly worried when Kayce got beaten up in season one; however, Kayce doesn't seem to care about Beth at all, seeing how he didn't even comfort her after she was assaulted in season two. Fans just found it odd that the two never talk to each other in private, despite the fact they both have a rather strained relationship with their brother Jaime, which means it would have been natural for them to team up against him.
Most fans are convinced it's an oversight on Sheridan's part, as he seems more interested in exploring Beth and Jamie's toxic hatred for each other rather than showing caring and supportive family members.
And although initially, the lack of a meaningful relationship between Kayce and Beth was not a big deal, five seasons later, it just seems unrealistic that the two still hardly ever talk to each other.
Kayce often gets pushed to the side by the other Duttons, which has been seen as a major issue by the character's fans since the early seasons. Kayce was a very promising character early on, but Sheridan lost interest in him at some point and has neglected him ever since.
