X-Men Villain Returns in Avengers: Doomsday Teaser, Fans Go Wild
Marvel just lit the fuse: the new Avengers: Doomsday teaser teases the comeback of a legendary X-Men villain, flashes a Sentinel, and reunites familiar faces from the original films—igniting fan frenzy and fueling talk of a massive crossover.
Marvel just dropped a new Avengers: Doomsday tease, and yep, the X-Men are back in the mix. It is very much the Fox-era lineup, and the footage basically exists to make you point at the screen like the DiCaprio meme.
Back to the X-Mansion, but make it apocalyptic
The teaser opens on a wrecked Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Over those ruins, we hear Magneto delivering a very Magneto send-off.
"Death comes for us all. It's all I know for sure. The question isn't 'are you prepared to die?' The question is 'who would you be when you close your eyes?'"
From there, Cyclops cuts loose with a full-power optic blast. The kicker: behind him, a giant metal leg stomps through the frame. Fans immediately clocked it as a Sentinel. Some tried to talk themselves into Galactus or an oversized Ant-Man, but the consensus landed fast: those are Sentinels, and they are huge. The teaser even puts Scott in the flaming ruins of the X-Mansion, which had people yelling variations of 'Scott, run' on social.
Who is actually in this thing
- X-Men: Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), James Marsden (Cyclops), Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), and Channing Tatum (Gambit).
- Avengers crew: Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Paul Rudd, and Simu Liu.
- Fantastic Four presence: Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby, plus Florence Pugh also in the mix.
The bigger picture
This is the third Doomsday teaser, following the earlier Steve Rogers and Thor-focused spots, and it is the first one to lean hard into the mutant crossover. Between the cast list and that not-at-all-subtle Sentinel leg, the movie is clearly swinging for the mega-event fences.
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters December 18, 2026.
