Second act or final curtain for Wonder Man on Disney+? From Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, the series trails struggling actor Simon Williams and Trevor Slattery as they claw for a lead role in a Wonder Man remake—while Simon keeps his superpowers under wraps.

Wonder Man just hit Disney+ and, yes, everyone is already asking the same thing: is there going to be a Season 2? Short answer: it is way too soon for anyone to know, but there are a couple of hints worth flagging.

So, is Season 2 happening?

Disney+ has not renewed or canceled Wonder Man yet. The show literally just premiered on January 27, 2026, so this is the do-not-overreact phase. Like most streamers, Disney and Marvel Studios will watch the usual dashboard: viewership, completion rate, buzz, critical response, and whether the cost makes sense for what they are getting back. If those numbers line up, a renewal is very possible. We should get a clearer read in the coming weeks.

What the creatives are already teasing

This part is kind of wild considering the show just launched. Co-creator and co-showrunner Andrew Guest has already been talking about where things could go if they get another season, including a very specific promise involving Josh Gad and the character Doorman (yes, the name is literal).

'Josh Gad is alive and Inside Door Man currently. If we get a Season 2, my promise is to get Josh Gad out of Door Man, and back into the world.'

Guest also floated the idea that, after being stuck inside Doorman for that long, Gad's character might come back with Doorman-style powers. Not subtle. But definitely the kind of comic-book weirdness Marvel fans tend to enjoy.

Wait, so what is this show again?

Created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, Wonder Man follows Simon Williams, a down-on-his-luck actor trying to land the lead in an in-universe Wonder Man remake alongside Trevor Slattery. The twist: Simon secretly has superpowers, which complicates his whole struggling-actor vibe in fun and messy ways.

Who is in it

  • Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams / Wonder Man
  • X Mayo as Janelle Jackson
  • Zlatko Burić as Von Kovak
  • Arian Moayed as P. Cleary
  • Shola Adewusi as Martha Williams
  • Demetrius Grosse as Eric Williams / Grim Reaper
  • Béchir Sylvain as Sanford Williams
  • Olivia Thirlby as Vivian
  • Byron Bowers as DeMarr Davis / Doorman

The bottom line

No decision yet. If Wonder Man connects out of the gate on Disney+, expect Marvel Studios to signal a direction pretty quickly. And if they do come back for Season 2, Andrew Guest has already planted a big neon sign: free Josh Gad from Doorman, possibly give him powers, and let the chaos continue.
