It looks like Stella won't be alone for long.

While Dick Wolf's series are doing better than ever, with the creator earning millions of dollars each month, it seems that one of his biggest shows, Chicago Fire, is in a bit of trouble right now. Earlier this year, actor Taylor Kinney left the project for unspecified personal reasons, and fans are still unsure if he will return to play Kelly Severide in the future.

Viewers hoped that Severide would at least appear in the Season 11 finale, but that didn't happen, which means that his wife Stella Kid is still alone. With one of the series' biggest actors leaving indefinitely, the entire existence of Chicago Fire is in question, and some fans believe that the writers will try to save the project by introducing a new romantic relationship for Stella next season.

Of course, Stella is still married to Severide, but if Kinney decides to leave Chicago Fire for good, the writers can make the character divorce her absent husband and choose another person from the show to date. And thanks to Episode 20, viewers have an idea of who this mystery man might be.

In that episode, newly introduced character Sam Carver shared quite a moment with Stella, protecting her from a creepy stalker who suspected that Stella and Sam were dating. Obviously, nothing romantic happened between them, but people still saw the tension between the two and wondered if the writers would decide to develop it into a full-blown romance next season.

While Stella and Sam definitely look great together, fans are not sure if Miranda Rae Mayo's character is the right person for Jake Lockett's Sam, who seems like a very nice guy and would probably never cross Severide in any way. Considering that he joined the show last season, the writers may decide to make Sam romantically involved with another character since Stella is still taken.

Anyway, even if Stella develops feelings for Sam, fans of the show won't be disappointed because they would rather see Severide break up with his wife than be killed. However, if Taylor Kinney's character is killed off-screen, one thing is for sure — Stella will never date again and will mourn her husband until the end of the series.
