Will They Survive? 10 TV Characters We're Afraid Might Die Off Next Season
Which of them will survive, and which will meet a tragic end?
Each of these shows ended on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers worried about the fate of their beloved characters. Each of these shows has been renewed, so fans are counting down the days to see the new seasons, anxious to know if the characters will survive or not. Medical personnel, firefighters, and police officers, these series' characters are diverse, but they all have one thing in common — their lives are hanging in the balance.
Here are ten characters from different shows who were left on the brink of death, and fans are eager to know if they will make it.
Dante, Harry, and Mel (The Equalizer)
The finale of this vigilante crime drama left viewers on a disturbing cliffhanger when Robin's former CIA colleague reappeared alive and determined to get revenge by kidnapping her friends and allies in the fight for justice — Dante, Harry, and Mel. The last time we saw the three, they were in a room that was set on fire, so it's unclear if the characters will be alive in the series' upcoming installment.
Sharon (Fire Country)
Cal Fire's Division Chief and Bode's mother, Sharon Leone has stage-five chronic kidney disease and had a kidney transplant donated to her by Luke, her brother-in-law, in the show's last episode. Although the surgery was successful, Sharon is still in a vulnerable position, and viewers can expect anything to happen next season — especially since Fire Country is known for its dramatic twists.
Somebody from Fly Team (FBI: International)
In the final episode of Season 2, the agents were able to prevent the illegal sale of missiles, but unfortunately, the buyer was much more cunning and launched an attack by blowing up the headquarters with the Fly Team members inside. Only Raines and Tank, everyone's favorite dog, were outside at the moment.
It's unlikely that the writers will decide to kill off all but these two, but the chances are very high that at least one of the team members will meet a tragic end.
Teddy (Grey's Anatomy)
While Kim Raver, the actress who plays Chief of Surgery Dr. Teddy Altman, confirmed that she will be back for the upcoming season of Grey's Anatomy, the Season 19 finale left fans worried about her character. Teddy's routine visit to the dentist turned into a trip to the operating room, and she even had to have her heart restarted with a defibrillator. Whatever this problem is, it looks like Teddy's life is in great danger, and we can't be sure that she will make it past Season 20.
Mouch (Chicago Fire)
Chicago Fire's Season 11 finale was both inspiring and unsettling. Fans rejoiced at the reappearance of Casey, and Kidd hinted at Severide's return at the end of the episode, suggesting that she intends to bring her husband back to Chicago. However, the fate of one of the most popular characters, Randall McHolland aka Mouch, remains uncertain. While doctors were able to patch him up, Mouch's wound opened up and he lost consciousness, leaving viewers in doubt if he'll be able to recover.
Ruzek (Chicago P.D.)
The Intelligence Unit of the 21st District is constantly faced with deadly situations. One of them was Kim's near-death experience, which made a lasting impression on fans and left the character permanently traumatized and suffering from PTSD.
But this time, the danger caught up with Kim's lover, Adam Ruzek, who was shot by white supremacists and lost a lot of blood before his colleagues brought him to the hospital. His fate remains unknown, and we can only hope for his recovery.
Dean (Chicago Med)
One of the most likely deaths that will still shock fans and make them shed oceans of tears is that of Dr. Dean Archer, one of Chicago Med's key characters from Season 7. The new head of the Gaffney ER has been diagnosed with end-stage renal disease — a similar problem faced by Fire Country's Sharon.
Because of his strained relationship with his son, Dean was reluctant to ask him to be his donor, so when his kidney failed, he collapsed during a surgery in the show's last episode. The situation was further heightened by the capture of the finale trailer, 'Someone will go.'
Jack (Station 19)
Compared to Chicago Fire, this show about Seattle firefighters has a darker tone, which makes the characters' deaths even more tragic. After the terrible death of Dean Miller in Season 5, the next person to meet his end might be Jack Gibson, who had the floor collapse under him during the sudden fire at the Firefighters Ball. His head and body were seriously injured, and Jack's status remains unknown.
