The show's directors weigh in.3.

Over the past decade, Marvel has evolved into the largest media franchise. While the studio's late-2000s films like Iron Man, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Thor were initially seen as standalone productions, they eventually became part of the Avengers series within a broader Marvel universe.

Several new characters, such as Scarlet Witch and Captain Marvel, were introduced and given their own spin-offs during this period. For example, Captain Marvel's lore was expanded with the Disney+ show Ms. Marvel, which centers around a sixteen-year-old girl who suddenly gains superpowers. The show premiered in 2022 and consisted of six episodes. Naturally, fans now want more, but the show's continuation depends on the success of another Marvel project.

Imminent Premiere

This year, Marvel has had several premieres, including Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. But the list isn't complete; another release is on the horizon within the MCU. The Marvels, the next chapter in Brie Larson's Captain Marvel saga, is set to premiere on November 10th.

With a budget of $275 million, the film plays a critical role in determining the superhero's future in the Marvel universe, as the production of Ms. Marvel's second season apparently hinges on it.

Ms. Marvel Season 2 Premiere Date

A diverse group of directors helmed the six episodes of the Disney+ show. However, it was the collaborative work of Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah that fans found most engaging. The duo recently discussed the prospects for a second season of Ms. Marvel. Their answer was unequivocal.

'No, we're waiting for The Marvels, so that will decide what the next step will be. So we're very much looking forward to that,' El Arbi said during a conversation with The Playlist. 'It's great to see the trailers and to see the whole family back there and Iman Vellani [Ms. Marvel] doing great work, so [we're] looking forward to that.'

Moreover, the production of the second season of this popular Disney+ show may face challenges due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. As a result, it's unlikely that Marvel will even consider moving forward until these obstacles to producing the next installment are gone.
