Here's how the writers' and actors' strikes will affect the Peacock show.

Poker Face was a breath of fresh air for any fan of the 'case of the week' format. The crime comedy series ran for ten episodes on Peacock from January to March this year, garnering all kinds of positive reactions from viewers and the best ratings imaginable.

Much of the show's success can be attributed to the unparalleled performance of Natasha Lyonne, who plays the superhero-like protagonist, Charlie Cale. Charlie has a unique ability to tell with 100% certainty when people are lying, which helps her solve the most twisted murders, but also puts her life in constant danger.

Needless to say, ten episodes of this fast-paced, addictive series was hardly enough for viewers, and many were delighted to learn that Poker Face was renewed for at least one more season in February. But could Season 2 be in jeopardy with the ongoing Hollywood strikes? After all, they have put the fate of many shows up in the air.

Fortunately, both Natasha Lyonne and creator Rian Johnson are not giving up on the project. Season 2 will be delayed by the strikes, but it is definitely happening, Lyonne told The Wrap this week. What's more, the actress and the filmmaker have already exchanged ideas about what's in store for Charlie.

There's no doubt that Season 2 will continue to follow Charlie's murder-solving journey while she's on the run from the casino mafia, this time led by Beatrix Hasp. The new season could also delve into the protagonist's backstory, showing how she became a walking B.S. detector or how it has affected her life and her relationships with people.

The possibilities are endless and exciting, as Season 1 only seemed to scratch the surface. But while she finds Charlie's superpower inspiring, Natasha Lyonne admits she would not want to have it in real life.

'My terror of a future is one in which we'd be able to have, like, a neuro link and we could read each other's minds,' she told The Wrap. 'No, no, no! The one gift we have is that we can't actually know what the other person is thinking.'

Thankfully, Natasha's character doesn't have that choice, and we'll get to see more of her hilarious and incredible adventures. Hopefully sometime in 2024.
