With the release of the new season of the popular historical drama series, the question is where to watch it.

Outlander's new season premiered on 16 June. Season 7 focuses on the continuing story of Jamie, Claire, and their families as they find themselves in the middle of the American War of Independence.

However, while US viewers can watch new episodes as they get released weekly on cable, watching Outlander is not as straightforward outside the US. Let's take a look at how and where you can watch Outlander depending on where you are and whether or not you can get it on Netflix.

The US

If you are in the United States and want to experience Jamie and Claire Fraser's amazing love story that spans many centuries, your best bet is to subscribe to Starz, as the show premieres on that network. Starting 16 June, the show will air weekly every Friday at 6 p.m.

Unfortunately, if you want to watch the show using your Netflix subscription, you will have to wait about two years, as was the case with previous seasons.

The UK, Ireland

For the UK and Ireland, the rights to Outlander are owned by Starz's parent company, Lionsgate, so starting 16 June, episodes will be released on Lionsgate+, a channel on Amazon Prime Video. Unfortunately, an Amazon subscription does not include Lionsgate+, so you'll have to pay for it separately.

Australia

In Australia, the series will be available on cable starting 17 June at 7:30 p.m. You will need a package that includes Fox One television. An alternative is to subscribe to the streaming service Binge, which will stream the new season on demand.

Canada

Canadians are a bit less lucky but not completely out of luck. Starting 18 June, they will be able to see Season 7 episodes on the W network at 9 p.m. Alternatively, if you're in Canada, you can watch it on STACKTV on Amazon.

Other countries

Residents of France, Poland, the Philippines, Belgium, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, India, and Malaysia are in luck, as Netflix will be releasing new Outlander episodes there the next day after they get released on Starz.

In many countries, local streaming services have the rights to the new season. For example, the new episodes will be available on Viaplay in Scandinavia, Neon in New Zealand, and Star+ in Latin America.

Additionally, you can always subscribe to a streaming service or cable TV channel in another country via VPN.

Outlander's new episode will come out on 23 June (or a couple of days later, depending on where you are).
