Will Bridgerton Season 4 Even Have a Diamond?

The glittering "diamond of the season" tradition has defined Bridgerton — but Season 4 might be ready to smash it to pieces.
For three seasons, Bridgerton has leaned heavily on one of its signature traditions: the Queen naming the "diamond of the season." Daphne had the title in Season 1. Edwina followed in Season 2. Francesca, quietly and without much fanfare, took it in Season 3.
But Season 4? It's not looking good for the tradition's survival.
No Season, No Diamond?
Early hints suggest that Season 4 will break from the usual format. It's expected to open with the Masquerade Ball — a glamorous event, but not one tied to the start of the social season. After that, there's a planned time jump, skipping forward to fall. With no official season happening, there's no clear reason for Queen Charlotte to name a diamond at all.
Even if the show wanted to stick with tradition, the Queen herself is on borrowed time. Historically, Queen Charlotte died in 1818. Bridgerton plays fast and loose with timelines, but her absence seems inevitable, especially if the series continues jumping forward in time.
Without the Queen, the idea of a "diamond" might disappear altogether.
If There Is a Diamond, Who Could It Be?
Assuming they squeeze in one last diamond before changing course, a few guesses are floating around. Book readers hint at the "Lady in Silver" — a character whose identity could throw the entire ton into a frenzy. She would fit perfectly if the Queen wanted to stir the pot one final time.
Some suggest Araminta might push hard for her daughter Rosamund to take the title, trying to grab the prestige that has always escaped their family. But considering the Penwoods are the ton's punching bags, much like the Featheringtons, the Queen crowning a Penwood seems unlikely.
Long-term, the series looks poised to shift away from society season politics. Seasons 5 and 6 are expected to spend more time outside London, focusing on personal stories rather than ton gossip and status games.
If Bridgerton ever circles back to the tradition for a final flourish, Hyacinth would be the perfect chaos agent. Loud, excitable, and impossible to ignore, she'd bring a completely different energy to the diamond role — the kind the ton (and the Queen) might not be ready for.
