Will a Predator ever stalk FX and Hulu’s Alien: Earth? Creator Noah Hawley finally answers the crossover question as the Alien prequel—fresh off its August debut and quick Season 2 renewal—charts its next, blood-chilling chapter.

If you were hoping a Predator might crash FX's Alien: Earth, go ahead and lower those expectations. Creator Noah Hawley just shut that door, at least for now.

So, is a Predator showing up on Alien: Earth?

Asked on the SmartLess podcast if he was planning a crossover, Hawley did not dance around it:

"No, not onto the show, I don't think."

He went on to say he loved Dan Trachtenberg's Prey and that Trachtenberg has his own plan for the Predator side of the universe (including the Badlands movie). Hawley says they have met once but are not coordinating anything, and bringing a Yautja into his series is simply not part of his plan.

Why fans keep asking anyway

There has not been a proper on-screen Alien/Predator mash-up since Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem back in 2007. Trachtenberg's recent Predator entries have slipped in a few winks and nods to Alien, which naturally fuels speculation. But as of right now, there is no official project that actually puts Xenomorphs and Yautja in the same story again.

Where Alien: Earth stands

Alien: Earth premiered in August on FX and FX on Hulu. It is a sci-fi horror series set before Ridley Scott's 1979 Alien, and it has already been renewed for Season 2. No premiere date for Season 2 yet.

Cast highlights:

  • Sydney Chandler as Wendy
  • Alex Lawther as Joe Hermit
  • Essie Davis as Dame Sylvia
  • Samuel Blenkin as Boy Cavalier
  • Babou Ceesay as Morrow
  • Adarsh Gourav as Slightly
  • Erana James as Curly
  • Lily Newmark as Nibs
  • Jonathan Ajayi as Smee
  • David Rysdahl as Arthur Sylvia
  • Timothy Olyphant as Kirsh
  • ...and more

Bottom line: Alien: Earth and Predator are doing their own things with different captains at the wheel. If a crossover ever happens again, it will not be inside Hawley's show. For what it is worth, these comments came on SmartLess and were first written up by Brandon Schreur at SuperHeroHype.
