Republic Records and Verve Records set November 21 for Wicked: For Good — The Soundtrack, packing songs from Wicked: For Good and the stage musical’s Act Two, plus two brand-new tracks spotlighting Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

If you have been waiting to see what the Wicked sequel is cooking up musically, here it is: the labels just locked in a date, dropped the track list, and yes, there are shiny new Stephen Schwartz songs built to make Oscar voters perk up.

Release date and what this album actually covers

UniversalRepublic Records and Verve Records will release Wicked: For Good - The Soundtrack on November 21. The album pulls from the movie Wicked: For Good and leans on Act Two material from the stage musical, which tracks since the sequel itself is essentially the back half of the Broadway story.

Two brand-new Stephen Schwartz originals

There are two fresh songs written specifically for the film:

- The Girl in the Bubble, performed by Ariana Grande as Glinda
- No Place Like Home, sung by Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba

Both are expected to be eligible for Best Original Song at the 2026 Oscars. In other words: yes, the movie-musical sequel is coming with awards ammo baked in.

About the movie this plugs into

Directed by Jon M. Chu, Wicked: For Good is the follow-up to 2024's Wicked. The story has shifted to Elphaba being branded the Wicked Witch of the West while Glinda becomes Oz's beacon of goodness. The dynamic is more complicated than the labels, obviously, and the sequel leans into that.

"As an angry mob rises against the Wicked Witch, Glinda and Elphaba will need to come together one final time. With their singular friendship now the fulcrum of their futures, they will need to truly see each other, with honesty and empathy, if they are to change themselves, and all of Oz, for good."

A few fun (and slightly inside baseball) notes

- Jeff Goldblum crooning Wonderful with Grande and Erivo is exactly the kind of delightful curveball you hope for in a movie-musical.
- Michelle Yeoh pops up on a couple tracks, including Thank Goodness / I Couldn't Be Happier, which should be catnip for anyone who loved her first-film presence.
- Jonathan Bailey duets with Erivo on As Long As You're Mine, while Ethan Slater shows up on The Wicked Witch of the East and March of the Witch Hunters.

Wicked: For Good opens in theaters on November 21, 2025. The soundtrack lands November 21 as well, so plan for a full Wicked weekend.
