Why Would the Sprouse Brothers Be Embarrassed to Meet Matt Damon Again?

Being a child actor has its advantages. You get more respect from people. You're treated as an individual and listened to and your opinions are valued. But as cool as it sounds, it's always nice to just enjoy being a kid. And apparently that is what most child stars want. At least that is the case for Cole and Dylan Sprouse, the stars of Disney Channel's hit sitcoms The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and The Suite Life on Deck.

At the height of the shows' success, the Sprouse brothers were in their mid-teens and couldn't care less about the whole fame and celebrity thing. They just enjoyed doing all the things typical teenagers do. In fact, they were so normal that they even brushed off Matt Damon when he showed up on the set of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.

Typical Indifferent Teenagers

According to Cole Sprouse, he and his brother, like many other teenagers, were big fans of World of Warcraft. So whenever they had free time on the set of The Suite Life, they would play the game on their computers. And like any teenager, they absolutely hated being interrupted for various 'unimportant' things, including Matt Damon's visit.

'I remember Dylan and I turning to each other and just going, "Ugh. I can't believe we have to get off a World of Warcraft right now,"' Cole Sprouse recently said of being told Damon and his family would be stopping by, adding that he and his brother were about fifteen at the time.

When the Oscar-winning actor and writer arrived, every crew member was 'amazed' by his presence. Yet, the Sprouse brothers can't say they treated Matt Damon with the same reverence. In fact, Cole isn't sure that he and his brother even looked away from the game to properly greet the stellar guest.

'I think he came in and was like, "Hey guys. Wow, so nice to meet you," and we were like, "Yeah, yeah. Hey man. Hey, how are you doing?" and just went right back to the game,' Cole Sprouse said about how rude he and his brother must have been to Damon.

A Healthy Reaction

Would the Sprouse brothers be embarrassed to see Matt Damon again? Maybe. But in hindsight, Cole believes it was a normal and healthy teenage reaction, so there's really nothing to hold a grudge about.

'We were just being kids and playing video games and I'm sure if I ever meet Matt Damon again, I'm just gonna say "I'm sorry" and it'll be all good,' the actor said.

The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and The Suite Life on Deck aired on Disney Channel from 2005 to 2011 and were real hits, beloved by international audiences. And it's indeed a good thing that fame didn't corrupt the Sprouse teens and they remained normal kids, albeit rude and disrespectful like their peers.
